Taylor Kent is a versatile upright bass player and bandleader based in New Orleans, Louisiana. Kent is a dynamic performer fluent in both traditional jazz and classical chamber music.

​Since moving to the city in 2017, he has become a sought-after musician in the early jazz scene, performing regularly at iconic New Orleans venues, including Preservation Hall, the Steamboat Natchez, Palm Court Jazz Cafe, and Jazz Fest.

​Kent began his professional career in 2010, at the age of 21, upon gaining a tenured position in the Spokane Symphony, one of the youngest members in the orchestra’s history to do so. He is currently a regular substitute with the Louisiana Philharmonic and performs with a variety of ensembles.
